Herron's team attempted to take the shuttles and infiltrated the factory, but due to misinformation about enemy numbers, they were forced to retreat. Herron explained that there was a tunnel through which his men could use to enter the warehouse, but the door was locked from the inside. His plan was to have the operatives infiltrate the factory and open the door from the inside, then sabotage the fuel depot outside, which would allow Herron and his men to enter the factory through the tunnel and take off on the shuttles unhindered. The operatives agreed to help and went to the factory. Avoiding combat with their advanced stealth equipment, they reached the tunnel door and found that it was unpowered. They made it through the factory and sliced three power stations, rerouting power back to the door's control panel. They returned to the door and unlocked it. They then exited the factory and engaged the mercenaries outside, killing at least twenty-five of them. They planted explosives at one of the fuel tanks and, moving to a safe distance, gave a signal to detonate. As soon as a huge explosion shook the ground, the operatives were commed by Herron, who thanked them and said that they were already on their way through the tunnel and would return the shuttles soon. The operatives continued the fight for a few more minutes to keep the mercenaries busy, and then withdrew, confident that they had bought enough time for Herron to complete his mission. |
